Nam install
Initially, you have to download the nam package. Download the nam package nam _1.15-10_i386.deb from the following free url ,

To install Nam for ns2 in Ubuntu, execute the following commands in the terminal window.
sudo dpkg –install nam_1.15-10_i386.deb
Nam file in ns2
During the ns2 simulation, the nam trace file is automatically generated which is stored with the file extension .nam.
The following NS2 tcl codes for creating object for nam trace generation,
set namtrace [open simulation.nam w]
$ns trace-all $tracefd
$ns namtrace-all-wireless $namtrace $val(x) $val(y)
Start Nam for ns2
After the installation process of NAM ,To start nam in Ubuntu for ns2 simulation , then execute the following command line in the terminal window and get the result as given below,
sudo nam
